Collaboration is the Key!
One of my goals this year is to increase collaboration between classroom teachers and myself, which utilize the library/media center to its fullest potential. Team-teaching can be an integral part to students’ educational success. Throughout the year, this page will highlight these collaborative efforts to showcase what students are learning and working on throughout the year.
Technology in the LMC

Ms. Nicholson brought students in 8th Grade Technology up to the library/media center to utilize the laptop computers and the West Point Bridge Designer software. Students had to design a highway bride in much the same way that practicing civil engineers design real highway bridges. Once the bridge was complete, the program tested the bridge to see if it was strong enough to carry the specified highway loads. Once the bridge could successfully carry the load without collapsing, students continued to refine their design with the objective of minimizing its cost while still ensuring that it was strong enough to carry the specified loads. |
