Welcome to the Lyncourt School Library/Media Center website! Several studies show a direct link between school libraries and student achievement. As stated in the research foundation paper, School Libraries Work!, by Scholastic Research and Results, “Whether student achievement is measured by standardized achievement tests or by global assessments of learning, research shows that a well-stocked library staffed by a certified library media-specialist has a positive impact on student achievement, regardless of socio-economic or educational levels of the community.”

As library/media specialist, my goal is to provide students and teachers a full range of print and non-print materials to support learning and academic achievement at Lyncourt School. I firmly believe that by working together with classroom teachers, and by coordinating classroom curricula with the library/media center, students will have an excellent opportunity for success in their academic endeavors.

I also believe that reading is a key element to student success. It feeds the brain and opens the doors to knowledge, as well as imagination. I look forward to introducing students to a variety of new books, as well as some beloved classics, and a year filled with excitement and success at Lyncourt School!
